3 days visit
Day 4 : visit to Marseille, a city founded by the Greeks 26 centuries ago. A must is a visit to Notre-Dame de la Garde basilic, with a superb ceiling, and 360° view over Marseille.

Day 5 : visit to Avignon and its Palais des Papes, largest gothic monument in the world, built over 20 years during the 14th century.. Don't miss the Angladon museum, the Saint-Benezet bridge, and keep some time for the market.

Day 6 : day off at Villa Chapelet, with excursion to the village of Puyloubier, visit  Wine Estates nearby, or a goatcheese producer, or an olive oil mill. While you're at it, visit the basilic in Saint-Maximin, and have superb lunch or diner inside the 13th century cloister.

Day 7 : driving tour to the Verdon Canyon, the largest in Europe, with breathtaking views along the road D23 / or driving tour to the Luberon and its famous villages : Ménerbes, Lacoste, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Gordes... and abbaye of Senanques.

Day 8 : visit to historic town of Arles, a roman colony founded by Cesar in 46 BC and adopted hometown of painter Van Gogh / and/or excursion accross the Camargue region, and/or visit to perched village of Les-Baux-de-Provence.

Day 2 : visit of Aix-en-Provence, preferably on a market day (tuesday, thursday and saturday). Don't miss the Granet Museum and the Cathedral of Saint-Sauveur. If you simply want to relax, book a day at the Thermes Sextius, Spa in central Aix-en-Provence, to recover from a previous day of hicking.
Day 1 : hicking the Sainte-Victoire Mountain with a choice of different paths, from a short and easy trail to Ermitage Saint-Ser, to more physicaly demanding ones to Pic des Mouches along the GR9 path. We will assist you in organising your excursion, providing maps and tips.
Day 3 : visit to the Calanques (costal cliffs and canyons) along the coast between Marseille and Cassis. It can be a driving tour on the scenic road from Cassis to La Ciotat, or a hicking tour in the Calanques (detailled maps and guide books provided), or a boat tour from Marseille or from Cassis. Alternatively, a visit to Avignon for those who place historic towns prior to remarquable natural sites.
